Even the circle on their flag is soccer! Oh, and sometime in here we found a Starbucks and I got my memory cup for Brazil!
We arrived in Sorocaba on Wednesday. Martha and Mike took a bus with some of the luggage and the rest of us came by car the 100 km from São Paulo. Beautiful countryside outside the city.
Spent some time at a shopping mall and ate lunch at a buffet. The stores are very busy and there is lots of merchandise so I think the economy is doing pretty well here. It was a quiet afternoon in preparation for the graduation events for the next two days.
Sally was looking for some embroidery floss and we found this little store in the supermarket. It is the closest thing to a fabric store so far.
We passed a store that had rolls of fabric on the sidewalk and the sign said "Patchwork" so I think they may have had some cotton but we could not stop. The parties start on Thursday with the actual graduation on Friday. The weather has been overcast and colder than usual but should warm up soon. The graduation is what brought me down here so - let the celebration begin!
